Throughout my career, I have held various positions as a psychologist/therapist, supervisor, mentor, consultant, lecturer, trainer and facilitator. Since 2004, I also ran a private practice in Cape Town through which I provided assessment, treatment and therapeutic support to adults of all ages, students, couples, families, adolescents, children and groups with a wide range of clinical diagnoses, conditions and problems. In addition, I have provided expert consultation to organisations/companies/institutions. My clients have always come from diverse cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.

2014-ongoing - Personal Chi Kung practice.

2010 - Completed a introductory course in Contemplative Psychotherapy (based on Buddhist philosophy and practices combined with Object Relations Theory) with Susan Groves in Cape Town.

2009-ongoing - Shamanic journeying practice.

2009 - Completed a course in Ayurvedic Nutrition (Cape Town).

2007-2008 - Successfully completed all 3 levels of training in the Gentle Touch, a deep and subtle whole-person oriented approach to healing with Lorraine Astra Brown in Cape Town.2007 - Completed an introductory course in Clinical Hypnotherapy with Professor Neil Broekmann at Stellenbosch University, Western Cape, South Africa.

2007 - Completed an introductory course in the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) or "tapping" (Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Cape Town)

2005 - Successfully completed all 3 levels of training in Intuition and Psychic Development (including meditation and mindfulness practices) with Nicola-Belle Tyson (Cape Town).

2003-ongoing - Personal meditation, mindfulness and contemplation practice.2005-2010 - Through my work with providing support and care to caregivers, counsellors and health care workers in the HIV/AIDS sector in South Africa, I have completed as well as taught courses in Mindfulness, Meditation, Nutrition, Aromatherapy, Chakra Healing and Capacitar (Pat Cane), a dynamic, whole-person approach to healing trauma that draws from various ancient and modern healing modalities, including Mindfulness, Meditation, Contemplation, Acupressure, EFT, Massage, Tai Chi and Chi Kung.

2000-ongoing - Personal yoga practice.

1992-1995: As a medical student at the University of Cape Town, I gained invaluable knowledge and skill in working with the human body and brain, through courses in: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Histology, Microbiology, Pathology, Psychiatry, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Community Health, Internal Medicine and Patient Examination and Care.
